I am trying to figure out a way to let me know my headlights are on when the car is off. I have a 2002 pontiac sunfire and "idiot buzzer" goes through the factory monsoon headunit.I have an after market headunit so none of the warning chimes work. Any body have any ideas other than mounting the oem radio in the trunk. Any help would be appreciated.

you can buy devices to do this for like $3 at just about any auto parts store, 3 wires to hook up and small size, easier than making one

Yea, I saw something like that just in a Walmart...it was a few dollars. I'm not sure how it works, I think you can just plug it into your fuze panel. It was like 3 wires I think. It was called something like a "headlight warning" or "headlight buzzer". It was located in the automotive section, near the fuzes and the switches...things like that.
