I have a funny question yall might think its stuped but I was wondering how would I power a car amp in  my home to run two 12" subs, what would I need? Thanks for all your help.

a power supply capable of tranforming household AC to 12v DC in the correct amount of amperage for your amp

You will need a very big power supply .

But you can conect the subs to a home amplifier .

I would suggest you use a home amplifier.  Running a car amplifier in your house is possible, but the power supply system you would need is more expensive than buying a good "indoor" amp would be.  I use a set of older Infinity Beta 10's in my house now, by the way, powered by an old Phase Linear amp I had sitting around... Sounds great.

You may want to mind impedance matching.  A lot of car audio components are designed for 2 or 4 Ohm, while the typical home stereo is 8 Ohm.  This mismatch will make your home stereo amp very unhappy over time.

Yeah, Listen to Nocturnal....... i fried a Harmon amp that way......    great for testing but not a long term decision unless you bridge it right.....  grin..  now i gotta buy a new reciever.
