Anyone familiar with Alpine door lock/unlock wiring? My brother had this Alpine SEC-8028 alarm, and he had a friend that installs alarms try to install it, but couldn't figure out the lock/unlock part of the Alpine unit. It has door unlock and lock relays onboard with the brain. There is: Door Lock Common, Door Lock N/C, Door Lock N/O, Door Unlock N/O, Door Unlock Common, and Door Unlock N/C. Why are there so many different wires? My care only requires 2 wires for door lock/unlock. Which wires would I use?

Also, does anyone know if the newer Alpine SEC-100S and SEC-150R uses this same wiring?

The car is my 1993 Honda Prelude VTEC.

Ay caramba! I downloaded the manual for your alarm at www.alpine-usa.com. That's some install manual. Anyway, I see the 5 wires that you're talking about. I also was looking at the flowchart, and it almost looks like you have to program it for (-) or (+) door locks? I'm not sure, though, I would wait for a better response. I would check out the manual in the meantime if you don't already have it. It's not very detailed, but might help.

You only need to use the following:

  • BROWN / RED & GREEN/ RED wire goes to GROUND
  • WHITE/ BROWN wire goes to LOCK wire on Prelude
  • WHITE/ GREEN wire goes to UNLOCK on Prelude
  • GREEN/ BLUE & BROWN / BLUE wires are not used.
