Hi

wife bought me 2 alarms last month one for my 97 ram 1500 and the otherfor my 2002 pt cruiser.i dont really want to mess with the pt cruiser at this time due to factory warrantybut i am willing to attempt to install the unit in my truck and if it works i will probably do the PTlater on.the alarms are "impact auto security" 3 channel with keyless entry and starter disable.the ram has a factory keyless entry. the instructions that came with the alarm are very vague but it does show a 3 wirepositive door lock set up using 2 relays it also mentions something called a DL-INVas an option. can someone tell me what this is and whether it would be easier than the relayoption? if so where would i get one? im very leary of messing with them myself but all the shops i have asked in my area wont install them because they werent purchased from them.if someone can help me with step by step install directions that would be a big help
thanks in advance for any and all answers

as u ask u may use relay instead of DL-INV (that stand for door lock inverter) check this diagram from the 12 volts
see : https://www.the12volt.com/doorlocks/page3.asp#3wp
and there is the pt 2002 diagram just in case that evrything goes ok

Notes:
NOTE: Chrysler vehicles that use a gray ignition key have an immobilizer system that needs to be bypassed when remote starting. Use DEI part number 555C or 555U. *1 Locks are negative trigger through resistors. Must use relays. Use 3K (3000) ohms for lock/arm and 7.2K (7200) ohms for unlock/disarm. Unlock requires a double pulse. *2 Also found at the keyless entry module. The keyless module is located above the radio in the center of the dash.    *3 Located in a 26 pin connector. Also found at the keyless module. *4 Also found at the headlight switch. *5 The tan or tan/blu wire catches the drivers door and is found in the drivers kick panel. The blue/orange catches the three passenger doors and is found in the passengers kick panel. Use both wires and diode isolate each. Both wires are also found at the keyless module.    *6 The PCM is located under the hood on the drivers side of the firewall.

in the ram is it easier to use the doorlock inverter or the relays?

like i said i dont have much experience with this type of work and i dont want

to screw it up since everuthing works perfectly in the truck now.

if the inverter is the easiest route to go where would i find one or do i need two?

                       thanks again

Its called a door lock interface. I don't think they make them for your truck. They are mainley used for new gm and jeeps to get the dome light and door locks. Best way is to use a relay. If you need more help just ask. I would be happy to help you
