is there factory amp   in not  just match up the wires from the harness to the ons on the chart...    it there is  a amp you can either hard wire each individual speaker or buy a bypass...  https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/detail.asp?info=alarm&year=1990-91&make=Ford&model=Explorer&ID=17794&type=Stereo

Hey intmdtr,

It all depends if you have the standard model or the premium sound system.  If you have the base model then you'll need harness 70-1770 from METRA.  If it's the Premium then the amplifier is in the right rear of the vehicle and speaker connections are done there.  1991 Ford Explorer (headeache) -- posted image.

use a wiring harness from Metra or similar. then you get the color codes for the source unit and wire the harness to that and plug it right in.
no wire cutting or anything
