97 cavalier door locks

I need some help installing a black widow alarm on a 97 cavalier. i have everything working eccept the door locks. i have read some places that i need to add a relay, other places say i dont. some insight on this would be a huge help.

one more thing, this car uses a 3 wire positive lock set-up and the alarm uses a negitive output. any ideas would be great.

Yep u need 2 relays, I have done a 97 cavalier...The one I did had to be setup for 3 wire positive locks...
Some 97 cavaliers need to be setup for 5-wire reverse, but I believe that's only for cars that come from the factory with keyless...
So try to set it up for positive with the 2 relays.

this cavalier does have keyless entry, can i still use the 3 wire positive set-up?

ok, we tryed the 3-wire positive set up with no luck. we will try the 5 wire set up next. if anyone has done this it would be great if you could walk me through this, as it is making me crazy! i hate cavaliers...

any moderators out there?

Told ya, if it has factory keyless, it's 5-wire reverse...
No factory keyless, it's 3-wire positive.

the door  lock wires on the cavalier are white and light blue at the keyless module which is located under the dash to the left of the steering column, and they are positive trigger. good luck
