What in the crap is hooked up to the + on my battery?!?!

Clearly it is some kind of distro system which breaks the system into 2 wires, each seems to be 4awg.
The clamp on the post is clearly a standard clamp; however, it seems to have a backend which is custom fit to the bracket on the distro block thingy.
Also, in the last picture there is some kind of '+' shaped plug or something towards the front of the picture. What in the world is that? Is that a plug for me to screw in additional battery posts?? (Please say YES!!)
:confused: This is a bit concerning, seeing as how I have a new battery terminal in the mail which is designed to cover the post completely:

well, that fuse is the charging wire from your alternator, and the plug is for filling the battery with acid...
