varad/554t question

i know i know.....yet ANOTHER led question......i did a search, but didnt really come up with an definant answer, so i'll ask myself

got 2 blue varad leds (blinking kind) wired red lead to fused positive, and ran the black lead to the orange lead on the 554t which if i am not mistaken is the ground when armed output???...so the little bastards should blink ONLY when the alarm is armed right???......well..they blink as long as the ignition is off...if its on they dont blink, but as long as the ignition is off they blink......did i miss something on the wiring??...is this because i ddint wire in the diode on the negative lead of the led??? dont really like the fact they blink all the time the key is off......and if i run a couple of more to my front corner lenses, they will do the same and i dont want that.

and another question kind off the subject.......how can you make all the leds blink in unison??....the two i have mounted by the door locks work, but they blink seperately......was just wondering if there was a way to make em all blink at the same time???,....not that big of a deal, just wonering.....
