I'm trying to build a sealed box for two 12" JL 12w3v2-D4 subs. The JL web site's recommended enclosures page is a bit confused? At least I am. The site says>

"All enclosure volumes listed above are net internal volumes! Driver displacement, port displacement and brace displacement must be added to obtain the final gross internal volume. All enclosure dimensions above have already taken this into account."

Is that saying the enclosures listed above for the sealed all ready has the Driver displacement and brace displacement included in that box's Dimensions. So I should build a box just like those dimensions listed, or take those dimensions and still add the driver, brace displacement - So build a biger box then the one shown? That last sentence is confusing me "already taken this into account " . Please help!

Hmmmmm, thats a good one. They did word it kinda funny but from what i gather out of their statement, the last part is stating that the dimensions they have listed account for sub displacement and braces. So the dimensions listed are the correct for ones for those subs.

what it means is that the "recommended" internal volume does NOT include the woofer displacement, bracing, wood thickness ect ect....BUT the box diminsions THEY provide allow for the bracing and sub displacement (ie, they are BIGGER than just the recommended volume) to compensate for this bracing and displacement...

i had a 12" w3v2 in my s10 i used a 1.56 cu ft ported box which did not account for the driver displacement or the braces. I used the box sealed at first then ported and the difference was significant. i reccomend using a box slightly bigger than 1.5 cu ft for each of your 12's
