i really want to move my head unit from the dash into the ceiling console.  i know most people wouldnt even think about doing this without a professional, but i really think i can do it.  i juss need to know if its possible. and also if just splicing the wires from where they are now, to new wires that go all the way up to where i want them would work or if i would have to rewire a whole bunch of crap.  if i could juss splice the damn things i KNOW i can do it.  i have been planning it for a while, but im not sure if its possible without messing something up or messing with a whole bunch of complicated stuff.  if you guys can help then i would be much obliged.   thanx

Spliceing the wires sound like it would work, considering installers & people do it to connect a new head unit. So sounds like it would work. Are you fiberglassing it into the ceiling console
dream it, build it, fiberglass it

As long as you use the same gauge wire to lengthen your connections you should be fine.  Hope it turns out good for ya.

I agree with Sweekster but be sure and disconnect the battery before you start your project so you can be sure not to sort anything out.
