I have a 2002 Ford explorer with a sunroof and i am thinking about installing an 8 inch flip down monitor...will this work...its an audiovox monitor with a flat housing, i'm just not sure witht the sunroof..also will an 8 inch be big enough for the backseat passengers to see..

just had one in the shop about 2 weeks ago. same year and same audiovox dvd 8" flip down unit.

there is a metal plate between the headliner and the sliding sunroof shade

use the mounting bracket that came with the unit, secure that to the headliner only.

the headliner will support the weight, if not, close the sun roofand shade, drill a couple of holes (if needed) and use a zip tie to assist with the weight.

hope this helps.
