I have a 96 Mitsu Eclipse with power locks. Recently the drivers side door lock quit working. Whenever I push the button to lock the door the passenger side locks, and it seems like the drivers side tries to lock, but it doesn't. Any advice on what could be the problem?

It sounds like the motor has got jammed or has gone completly out. You can either take it to the dealer or take the door panel off and check it out your self. If you decide to check it out yourself make sure that the motor is securly fastened to the door. Good luck with it!

Well I was messing around with it a little more last night. I'm fairly sure that I have the vaccuum type door locks. I found out that when I push down the lock button and hold it down for around 10 secs the door eventually locks, but it only works like once every couple of hours. Anybody have any ideas, I really need some help

your car does not have vacuum door locks, vacuum door locks are found on older mercedes and older lincolns, your car has electric door locks, by what your saying it sounds like you got a bad door lock motor. You can go to the dealer to have it replaced but you're gonna pay alot there or just go to a car stereo shop and have it replaced with an aftermarket actuator which run anywhere between $20 to $30 plus labor.

Depends on the vehicle. It's not that hard, but you have to install 2 relays and hook it up to the KE or alarm system.
