I'm gonna jump in here.

I used the wiring harness to hook up my deck, and theres no stock illumination lead.

Can I still rig this in there, or do I just have to dim it manually?

is there an illumination wiring coming out of your deck? or is it just a  manual contrast or dimmer adjustment?

I think he's referring to the OEM side of the harness not having a lead to connect to (since most aftermarket headunits have an illumination lead in their harness)

I always cap that wire off...no need for it unless the customer specifically asks for it
