is it possible to drive a car with remote start without needing to use the car keys
Curious if this is even possible

Yes it is possible, with a little bit of modification to your cars ignition. There is a lock which is part of the ignition which locks your steering column when the key is not inserted. You just have to find that particular part of your ignition and remove it. However this is not recommended as it will be very easy to steal your vehicle after this is done. I have seen it done though.

once the brake is pressed on MOST systems, the remote starter will shutdown...
a screwdriver and a hammer can bypass the steering lock on most cars.. and there's a pontiac.. Gran Prix I think.. the wheel don't lock at all. so if you drive without hitting the brake, you're good..
