2002 Hyundai Elantra - alarm info

I have yet to see an Elantra with an immobilzer. The factory alarm disables itself when you remote start the vehicle. You need to power the key sense wire as an ignition. They are usually positive. The only way to arm and disarm the factory alarm is by the factory remote. There is no way for you to not have to carry the factory remote if you want to arm the alarm. What I usually have customers do is use the factory remote when the vehicle is off so they can arm and disarm the factory alarm; and use the aftermarket remote to lock and unlock when the vehicle is running since the factory remote doesn't work when the key is in the ignition (which the car will think is the case since the key sense wire will be powered). Hard to explain....I hope you followed.
