back story: i have a clifford ag4. works great. so i clean my engine, (carefully i think w/ light flow of water). about a day or two later (it was raining hard too) i disarmed it to get in and heard a whiny short circuty type sound. i get home and pull the car into garage. turn it off. put it into valet mode and the siren is still making the same sound. i disconnect pos and neg and still the same thing. it wouldnt shut up. it wasnt wailing at full blast. so i get to the siren and pull the magnet. when i see siren i notice its upside down, the wire is entering it from the top (even though it has a gasket, i noticed water around it). talk to shop who installed it and when i described it he made the same sounds it was doing and said it sounded like a bad ground (alarm was installed last summer) but that its possible some water might've entered in and that someone servicing car might've uninstalled alarm then put it back on upsidedown. i did have the front bumper repainted but dont see why they would've had to pull the siren. after driving w/ no magnet for 3 weeks i put it back in and test it. set the alarm off, warnings, chirps and everything is working perfect. so i start doing my audio install about a week later and have to redo the battery connections for my new battery which i had to use dist blocks for the power and ground on the side of the batt box. i made sure to keep track of whats what. i do it and reconnect the batt and wiring and test it. car starts perfectly and everything works perfectly. so when i take the alarm out of valet mode i noticed it made the similar whiny white noisy short circuity type sound when i trigger the alarm or when it gives a warning. its even noticeable in the pitch of the on and off chirps. but the alarm itself appears to be working and responding to different commands. i dont want to take it to the install shop only cuz he tells me everytime i see him we gotta work on audio for my car. well, i ended up buying a bunch of equipment and i'm currently in the middle of the install and dont want to show him the car cuz i feel bad. can u help me diagnose this. the two sets of wires (each set has 2 wires each with a fuse for a total of 4 alarm fuses under the hood) that were connected to the pos before i combined into one connection at my pos dist block at the batt. i thought this might've been the reason so i connected each set to a different hole in the dist block. this didnt really do anything. all the wiring for the audio system is laid out but not connected yet. the inline fuse isnt even connected to the dist block. i have 0gauge going from the pos and neg posts on yellowtop to a nonfused dist block each then all the stock wiring connected to the blocks and the 2 sets of fused wires to the post block. the audio inline fuse isnt connected yet. i believe one set of the fused wires is for the siren. all the fuses r fine. i noticed a few more fused under the driver dash coming off the alarm brain. they appear fine also. all connections at the alarm brain appear fine. could the siren be getting interference all of a sudden. thanks to whoever replies.
