Hey i need the cuft for a sealed box for a 15 Eclipse aluminum for its best performance. thanks a lot

is there not a eclipse site out there? i cant find a thing either. im gonna say 2 to 3.

then again...it should say in the manual for the specs.

I need quality equipment, feel free to donate.

On the eclipse web it isn't stated. But if you send an email to there tech support they will send you there recommended specs.

I think its stated as 6.2 cuft or somthing weird like that but everyone has said to build them smaller than they specs.

I'd probably say you'd be safe with 3 cuft. But then again i'm no expect on 15's. Maybe bberman1 might be able to help out he seems to be the shall i say guru on eclipse subs around here.

The VAS is 6.1 cuft. The only thing I can find in reference to box size off hand is that they are designed for small sealed enclosures. For a 15" DVC that generally translates to a 1.5cuft min. box. But I would still try to find someone who's worked with them before.

Eclipse recommendations:

Sealed SPL .65cu/ft , SQ 1.65cu/ft

Ported 2.0cu/ft with a 5 inch round port 13 inches long.

Now I would suggest that you take the specs above and build some test enclosures with different volumes (.65-1.65) and see which one sounds best to you.

so if i want some major bass go with the .65 or would the 2.0 with the port put out a TON more bass of just some?

Personally I would go for about 1 cu/ft sealed. I have never put Aluminum in a ported to know how it will sound but I’m sure it will be louder than if it was in a sealed enclosure. But if your going to glass it up I would suggest buying a piece or two of MDF and building some test enclosures and see what volume and box type you like the best. Also if you’re looking for SPL I would take a look at the Titanium’s. They put out huge amounts of bass and still sound good for putting out such an extreme amount of bass.

yea i was gonna get a titanium but i dont want to stess my cars electrical system. Thats why im only gonna run an amp thats 500 watts and probly not any over. (unless i run an amp to components later) But in a car as big as a 4runner in the inside will one 15 alum in a sealed box put out a good amount of bass? compared to maby 2 Type R's or somthing of the sort?
