Anybody know how to bypass the factory amp on a lincoln towncar? Does Metra make a bypass wiring harness adapter? is the amp located in the dash? under the seat? or in the trunk? Any help or links to this problem would be appreciated.

Yes, this car has an amp and you will need to bypass it.  The Scoche FD07 jumper should work.  You definately want to bypass the amp, and replace the crappy factory speakers.  Generally, Ford premium audio system amps from the late '80s are under the passenger seat, or maybe in the trunk, but I do not know for sure in a Town Car.

You might want to post your question on the Lincoln Owner's Club web site at www.lcoc.com.  If anyone knows for sure, they will.

OOPS!  My mistake!  It should be www.lcoc.org.  Org, not com!
