Hey just wanted to ask you all and see if anyone is sure on this. There is no stereo info in the vehicle database for the 2000 Suburban, but wanted to know if the Tahoe info would be the same. I basically need to know the correct wire to hook to for my Alpine 7949 for the illumination wire. For the Tahoe there is one that is Gray that is for illumination but also one that is Brown for the dimmer. Can anyone tell me which one I would want to use? Thanks for the assistance.

go buy you a wire harness at any store that sells car audio equipment i.e. best buy, circuit city, car toys, etc.

I am not using a wiring harness, so that isn't an option. I just want to find out if the colors on the Tahoe are the same for the Suburban

They are different in colors for 2000. If the 7949 has a dimmer wire use the BROWN wire.
