99 F150 remote entery with a prestige aps-255

Help i installed a prestige aps 255 on a 99 F150 and the alarm is working but i can't get the remote entery or the lights to flash do i need elays or what and also the instructions are very very vague on how to program it could that be the problem with the doorlocks and lights? any help as to the remaote entry lights and program are greatly apprecitaed!

It depends on what type of system you have in the truck now:

The lights are nothing special. Just attach the Prestige parking light output wire to the DARK BROWN wire coming from the steering column or at the switch. This wire will test 12 volts when the parking lights are turned on.

How did you wire up the system ?

How many White parking light wires are on the Prestige unit?  And how many fuses does it have?

Some of the Audiovox (Prestige) stuff has an ordinary positive parking light output.  Others have two wires----one is the output to the lights, the other is the input.....you would put this to ground, or constant positive, depending on your car's lighting system.
