I am installing a remote start with 3 accessory outputs. I want to know how to use one of these to acc points to turn on the stereo in the car. I think I know how to do this, but am not sure which wire I need to tap into, or if I need a relay to do it.

This is on a 96 chevy blazer.

these are the wire need to power when remote start.

STARTER|purple or yellow |+ |ignition harness |

whats the brand of your alarm unit?

What alarm are you installing? It might be possible you are thinking the wire will do one thing and it really doesn't (i.e. output when it's an input). we can give you exact wiring if we know the alarm.

If the output turns out to be a neg 3rd channel that can be "latched" then you connect it to a relay that connects "constant" to the "acc" wire.

Relay:

85 - Positive

86 - alm output (3rd ch latched)

87 - constant 12v

30 - "acc" wire

87a - no connection.

p.s. If there are amps then they might require more wiring. That being if their remote turn on lead was connected to "ign" instead of the remote lead or "acc". Try above 1st then if the amps don't work we can go from there.

it is an impact alarm basically the same as a delta pro 5005

good to go. I couldn't find wiring diagram to give you the exact wires but it says the aux channels can be programmed to be latched. Thats all you need! :)

Thanks for the info, but I have one futher question.

In an earler post you gave me the following information which tells me that I am on the right track.

Relay:

85 - Positive

86 - alm output (3rd ch latched)

87 - constant 12v

30 - "acc" wire

Which acc wire do I need to connect to for the radio to turn on from the remote? Is it one of the wires comming out of the radio or is it one going into the ignition harnes. I am thinking that there should a wire going into the ignition harnes that will activate the radio.

Ohhhh...

The "acc" wire under the column in the main ignition harness. The constant is there also.

Constant = red

acc = orange

they are both thick wires. Basically you'll be powering everything on the acc wire just like if you where to put the key in the ign and move it to the "acc" position. The only thing that is usally powered in this case anyway is the radio and the cig lighters. So your radar detector or CB might power up also.

Going straight to the radio is extra work that could do more harm then good. If you where to send power to the wire at the radio where it is a smaller gauage and fused and lets say you plugged something in high powered on the cig socket, the power will go through the smaller wire at the radio and back to the fuse box and to that plugged in iteam.

ok I have already connected Accessory 1 from the remote start to the Orange acc wire. that just turns on the blower for the A/C.

Looking at the wiring diagrams,

Accessory

Orange

Ignition Switch Harness (Heat/AC)

This is what I have done already.

Do you know which wire turns on the rest of the accessories, as if the key was in the acc position.

Oh, humm..

Put the key in the ign adn turn it to "acc".

Probe the thick wires (pink,brown,etc..) the one that show 12v's or lights up your test light is the wire in question.

Holly cow this has not been my week. I keep looking the wrong direction in these issues.

Your trying to get the radio to come on when you RS the truck or are you trying to hook the radio up to a 3rd channel to turn only the radio on?

Either way get some paper and do the following. Put the key to "acc" and find any/all wires that light up testlight. Next move the key to "ign" and find all wires that light up now (write them down). All the wires that light up the test light in these conditions need to have power during RS.
