Hi guys,

This is what i got in my car at the moment.

1 X Kenwood amp with tri-mode

1X 6X9 Pionner for the rear

And a i got a sub as well and was thinking of setting up tri-mode from my amp, and the manual book stated that i need to buy "2 X capacitor" and "1 X coil".

My question is do u really need to buy them, please help me coz i am new to car audio .

i believe the cap and coil are only needed when running two different types of speakers off the amp. if you run all three identical subs i dont believe you need any caps or coils.

oh sorry it looks like youll be running the 6x9's and the sub off the amp,after reading your post again. yes you will need the caps and coil to be able to set up a cross over on the sub and 6x9's so that neither blows.

A simple and effective way to go trimode is with the PAC TM-100 crossover. This is a passive crossover with the "coil and caps" that you referred to in a neat box with carefully marked wiring for hookup. It is available from Crutchfield and many other car audio sources.

Kenwood also makes a passive trimode crossover though I do not recall the model number... Tri-mode -- posted image.
