Ok everyone, I'm looking for a decent LCD Alarm w/remote start. I have a manual and I know all the warnings, but my friend just got a compustar and I don't want to copy. Eventually I'm going to shave the door handles and trunk and want something capable of having the poppers for the doors and trunk able to be hooked up to it. Thanks for the advice.

what about an Autostart AS6000 series....they make em for manual, have a wicked featureset and work great.  I personally own a 6000 and love it.  We install about 30 of these a year with great luck.  Check em out at www.autostart.ca

you won't be disappointed.

We have had good luck with the Lynx 2000R systems.

apparently you didn't look close enough...the Autostart TW line is full LCD, two way paging.  I've even dug up what the remote looks like:

Hey HamiltonAudio what is the best range you have had with the 2500's ?? How about the non- AM units like the 1525SH's ? Let me know.

haven't really measured very closely...the 2500's and the 6000's are the same unit (less alarm), and they both click off easy 2000+ foot ranges.  Mine works (and pages back) MUCH further away than any others in the office I work in.

The 1524/5 are SH models, and are AM as well....the new 1725 is full FM now, and my first 17XX series units should be here Monday (can let you know how they work then).  The 15XX series advertise 1500 ft, and they do that comfortably...most people come back for other work, and comment on just how far their rmt start works.

I can't say enough good things about Autostarts products...very solid, reliable pieces with lots of programming choices, add ons and features.  If these pieces don't do it, is prolly a un-neccesary featre :)

hope this helps!

That's good but I want a good range with a good alarm. Also I want to make sure the alarm is upgradeable so when I do shave the handles and stuff it will work to open the doors.

Ultrastart 4225TL if u want range and upgradeability, nobody on here can say there's another 2-way with better range.
