Hi guys,

I try to install me EQ, but there is no sound coming from the speaker after connecting it (EQ) through the AMP. What i want to do now is to try and if possible to test the RCA "input" and "output.

Is there a way to test whether is the cable is not working ?

Thanks guys :)

If you take a digital multimeter and set it a/c voltage put your (neg) probe on the outside "ground" side of your rca and the (pos) probe on the center lug of the same rca and turn the vol. "gain" up to a reasonable listening level and your should see a variation in voltage. The next test is to continuity test the cable itself. We hope this helps.
dont be a pet monkey ..use your dmm

Hi,

Can you tell me how to continuity test the cable itself?

Sorry i am very new to car audio, so wat you telling me is to hook up the EQ again and unplug one of the cable  from the EQ either  "input" or "output" and test the cable?

Thanks once again :)

Use a DMM and set it to continuity test. It will beep at you if the RCA has NO break in it.

some multimeters cant test that though, another way you could to it is this.  you would have to have someone else to hold the multimeter leads on the rca's  and touch the other ends to a drill battery (12V).  if you get a 12v reading out of the meter on the other ends of the rca's, then they are ok.

Sorry, you can NOT post a reply.
