ok i need some help here, 98 pontiac firebird came into the shop today for a good old car alarm.  well it was all good at first, the lights, lock, unlock, the windows, the hatch pop....but then a problem occured, some weird thing this car has with the domelight, like the doors wont unlock when the light goes out, so i had to use another diode to fix it, and it didnt work, now the doors dont lock or unlock and not even with the switch in the door!  i left the car there overnight, the customer was cool about it, not mad at all.  i was so stressed and mad that i really couldnt even concectrate on fixing it...any help would be appreciated, please!!!!   maybe tommorrow ill be able to fix it  someone please help, either write back here or email me at italnpimp59@hotmail.com

hey jeff, i got your email...thanks so much for the help, just one thing, your diagram shows neg pulse going to the tan unlock and pos pulse going to driver door lock and pass door lock...i had negative pulse going to them and it worked fine, it just would only unlock sometimes, when i checked the program we have for alarms...it said the doors wont unlock after the domelight goes out...so thats where all the diodes came in....i looked at the diagram from our program, and it said i needed one more diode so it like blokced the neg current from the domelight...so the bcm would still lock the doors when the wire is triggered with neg pulse.  when i did that, it didnt lock or unlock even if i hit the switch in the door!  please help...i gotta fix it tommorrow, i really gotta figure this out.

.......domelight goes out " that is because of the GM RAP system that only gives power to the circuit when the unit is awaken by a pulse to the door trigger. I will send you another diagram to wake up the RAP system inorder for the keyless to work for you as well.

well i gave up on it....this was kinda embarassing to say i couldnt do something, but i could not figure it out....the reason the locks stopped working was just a blown fuse, the relay was hooked up wrong, i corrcted that problem.  now i got the driver door to lock and unlock as needed but the pass door wont unlock at all even with the switch.  i charged him only for the window module and sent him to another shop.  they said they were sure they could do it and they would call and let me know what i did wrong.  but thanks for the help Jeff, i appreciate it.  hopefully this wont happen again, i have been stumped several times on alarms, but always eventually could figure it out....not this time!!   well im gonna get back to work, i have a XM radio to install.
