I have just installed a turbo timer in to a 1998 Nissan Patrol diesel. The cars factory computer picks it up as a fault in the system, because when the key is turned off and the car keeps running some of the circuits are turned off and some are still on (mainly the ignition circuit is still on ) and it picks this up as a fault. Is there any way around this problem. The problem it causes is the Sub fuel tank light on the dash stays on but the sub tank switch is not working. It is a code for the computer fault. If you remove the turbo timer and reset the computer (by removing the battery terminal) the system resets and works properly again

any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanx

You might need to put a relay in so that it puts power to the other ignition wires that come off the key barrel. I think the Patrol has more than one. You're probably best to take it to an actual car alarm/audio shop or auto electritian.

Thanx for the reply Samantha, I am an alarm/audio installer but have not come across this problem before. Even our auto elec. has not done it either.I do understand what you are saying about the relay idea, if all the circuits stay on with the timer it should work and I will try and find out about the other circuits. i just thought someone may have already done it and  knew the wiring colours . Thanx again.
