i just installed a lcd and dv player in my car. my lcd has a white line that goes across it when it gets the first turn the dvd player, while the disk is loading . but as soon as the dvd actaully starts playing, or gets to a menu the line disappers. also the screen randomly will trun black and white and come back some time randomly. also the dvd player will randomly tell me i have no disk. any one have any idea whats going on. oviusly the no disc problems is related to my dvd player. but im not sure if the color and line problems are caused by the llcd or the dvd player.

The LCD has a drive crystal and when those go defective you get a intermit black and white signal. Yet I have come across a few DVD players that were defective sending a black and white signal also.  If the LCD has adjustments for picture, brightness...etc. try to narrow it down by setting the LCD to default setting that may tell you, if the LCD goes color, the problem is in the LCD. Also check the quality of your RCA cables. Some low quality RCA video cables can cause a bad signal from the DVD to the LCD.
