1992 ford explorer remote start help

Hi, I just bought a pro start remote car starter,  i have everything hooked up properly, but still cannot get it to work, the light on the module just blinks, i can't program the remote or anything,  i have only one ignition wire hooked up, could there possibly be multiple wires?  I'm about to throw this thing against the wall...please help

It is a prostart 3300, i just looked through the wiring again and everything has to be hooked up properly,  I have the 2 12v constant, one 12v accesory, one 12v crank and on position, one 12v crank position, is there possibly multiple wires the remote start has to be hooked up to?

Can you get into program mode at all? I just installed a Prostart in a Taurus and It took me a bit to even get to the programming mode to initialise the remote. I'll assume that this is your issue and everything is hooked up right for now.

To enter programming mode and initialise the remote. Push the hood switch for about 4 seconds then release. As soon as you release it the parking lights will come on briefly. Here is the tricky part. As soon as the lights come on push down the hood switch and let it go right away. The lights will stay on for 20 seconds. This is programming mode.

While the lights are on (20 seconds), turn the ignition key to on then off, then press the lock button on the remote twice within 3 seconds. The parking lights will flash 5 times. The remote is now programmed. Next step is to program the tach.

thanks for the help so far, so right now, i think i have the remote programmed,  i got it to blink 5 times, and the unlock and lock buttons work, parking lights blink like they should, once and twice, but when i press the remote start button, the parking lights blink 10 times fast, and nothing happens, it says this is something to do with the hood pin switch being grounded out.  the hood switch is hooked up properly so don't know exactly what is going on, is there 2 ignition wires that have to be hooked up>?  i just checked the wiring colours from here, and it list 2 ignition wires, i have only hooked it up to one, could this be causing a problem?  getting closer to this thing working i think...still need a little help though..  thanks.

Glad we can help you. Are you trying to start with the hood up? If so then yes the hood pin will go to ground. That is what it is suppose to do to avoid an accidental start if the hood is opened while say you're tuning it up. Close the hood and try again.

If the hood is closed then the hood pin is likely set too low and it is not breaking ground when the hood is closed. Raise the hood pin (by unthreading the top nut) so that when the hood is closed it pushes down on the pin and breaks ground.

Did you progam the tach signal?

HI yes i have programmed the tach signal, and the hood is down,  i even help the hood pin switch down manually to make sure, and it's still flashing 10 times then doing nothing...any more idea's??
