stater interupt help?

I would like to install a stater interupt on my 2001 chevy silverado 1500 with crimeguard alarm. the reason i would like to is to utilize the anti carjacking features. will this cause any problems with passkey or anything later with remote start? or do i need to do anything special to accomplish this. NEWBIE here so any help would be appreciated. thanks.. PS. am i the only one that gets nervous when cutting the starter wire?? haha

Should be straight forward, done lots of alarms on gm passkey vehicles and no problems encountered. As far as remote start goes that's a whole different topic, one to cover when you are ready with the remote starter.Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
