I am in dire need of some good 4'' speakers... yes i know you cant get "good" 4's but that all that will work without serious modification... can anyone give me some ideas on some 4's with ear piercing highs, and mid bass too? In the under 100 range, that will handle at least 60 watts... thanks

If you can squeeze a 4-1/2" in, the JBL GTO 420 (I think the new model is called GTO426) sounds great.  If it must be 4". the Memphis MC40 is nice.

Powerbase 4" 2 ways are GREAT for the money. Blaupunkt Comp Pro 4" are good too. Both are cheaper than Memphis and JBL and will give you more for your money. Email me for details. premieravp@aol.com

Have a listen to any MB Quart 4" speaker, Canada has a 3yr warranty, not sure about the states. There is a whole pile of really good speakers available today, like the ones mentioned above. Some people find the pure titanium tweeters in the Quarts just way to piercing, sounds like this is what you are looking for. Make sure you have either some kind of cabinet behind the 4" to help enhance the midbass, be it foam hats, or sound deadening material on the door, little things like this can turn on ok speaker into something really nice.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
