ok i posted about my battery going flat if left for between 5-10 daysi tested again with a amp meter on 10 amp setting between the neg post and wirehere are my results...what do you think

int light on 0.75

no int light but everything else conected 0.07

radio fuse pulled 0.05

alarm fuse pulled 0.04

alarm armed 0.07

disconect wire to amps and power cap 0.04

alarm armed with no amps/cap 0.05

so what do the reading sound like? to me it looks like i could half my prob by looking into the amp drain

is 0.07 enough to drain the batt in around a week or so

Im sure it might if its just sitting for a long period of time but I doubt it would within a week

Anything over a 25ma draw total is considered parasitic.

bberman...excuse my ignorance, how does 0.07 compare to 25ma...im not good with electrics

0.07 would be 70ma, 0.025 would be 25 ma. If you go to this link http://www.onlineconversion.com/power.htm and convert watt to milliwatt it will be the same as amp to milliamp.

From the number you gave me yes. Dose your voltage meter have a dc ma or dca m setting ?

If it dose then you will want to set it into dc amp milliamp mode and it will measure it in ma. It sounds like you already know how to measure the current but here is a good tutorial http://www.eatel.net/~amptech/elecdisc/vomillia.htm (scroll down to measuring amperage)

ive been having some battery drain issues on my car..while trying to find the fault i noticed my PG xs 2300 amp is pulling 0.02 amp when off. pulling the remote wire makes no differance and i get a big spark if i touch the power wire on and off the terminal

is there a cure without buying a new amp? i realise i could fit a switch
