Has anybody on a 97 dodge ram. hooked up so when you turn the high beams on it also latches on the low beam.. Here is what i tried. I hooked up at the headlight.

86: ground, 85: highbeam. 87: 12v. 30 lowbeam.

worked fine except when the ignition was on without the headlights on the relay flickered on and off super fast. I think that is because of the daytime running lights. any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Wouldn't having both the low and high beam on at the same time for extended periods cause the sockets to overheat and melt?

I wouldn't recomment that either, you'll cause yourself a headache because with the ignition on as well you might cook your daytime running light mod and who know what else. And as well like SCKNF said you will melt your socket and plug on your headlamp, to much current at once.

as far as wireing it would be very easy to do with 2 spdt relays but thay are right it would likely melt the housings unless the high and low beam are seperate bulbs.
