Hey guys

Im about to do a 2003 Sierra Diesel with factory keyless and gonna add a remote start and use the remote for the rs for the keyless.  Is there an easy way to connect the factory keyless to the aftermarket remote or would i have to go about hookin it up as if it didnt have keyless?

Thank you

Chris

Your truck has databus doorlocks. You need a 456G from DEI. It wil arm/disarm the factory alarm, and lock/unlock the doors. Don't forget you need a bypass for the Passlock II system. DEI part # 555L or a PLData from www.bypasskit.com
What brand remote start do you have?

there is an easier way if only your add on auto start has programmable 2 or 3 pulse start output.which means your factory keyless remotes after programming the start pulse eg.pressing lock/twice or three times will activate the autostart.you will still need a bypass for the passlock sys.

tou dont want to add to factory remote cause you are limited to 20-30ft range use a bypasskit.com pldata and gmdl4 and you cant get any easier youll spend about 50-60$$ but itl save major time if you cant get the bypasses let me know

The Tach wire is easily hooked up by removing the guage cluster. Just undo dash by pulling the trim at the lower right of the stereo. Once this is removed, four 10mm bolts hold the guage cluster in place. Just pull it out, turn it, and set it on the dash, with everything still plugged into it.  The tach wire is white. (should be soldered, in case of future corrosion)

The data wire for the door lock module is purple, and can be found on the diagnostic plug at the lower right of the steering column. There are no door lock/unlock wires to speak of since this is all run through the computer.

You will also need a Passlock 2 module. This will allow the remote starter to bypass the passlock system, and start the truck. It will have to "learn" your code, so hook it up before anything else.

Don't forget the Glow plug wire from the remote start.

Just did one of these yesterday, and they can be involved until you have been through the whole process.

Josh thanks for all the info!
You say there is a data wire for the door lock, does this mean that you do no have to do the doors like a 3 or 5 wire normal connection? Can you just connect to that wire? Thanks again

If you don't get the databus integration module you will have to go into the doors. If you do get it then you just have to tag one of the wires at the diagnostic port and the new alarm will control pretty much the same things that the factory remote would do, locks, domelight supervision, and factory alarm if you have one, to name a few.
