2001 Expedition Door Trigger Help

Hello, 

I recently installed an LCD pager alarm system in my 2001 expedition.  I used the DEI wiring diagram and everything works fine(remote start, etc.) with one exception.  My door trigger is very inconsistent.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. 

From time to time, it would give me false alarms stating that my doors have been opened even though they are not.  Does anybody know the best wire to use for the door trigger?

Hi Jeff,   I used the light blue wire according to the wiring diagram.  It's located by the foot panel,  all the way up.  It's the 2nd wiring harness of the keyless entry. 

I didn'tuse a diode/relay.  I just connected it directly. I didn't know about using a diode or relay.  This is the only vehicle that's giving me a false alarm on the door trigger.  All the other  vehicles I've done have been running perfect.

I am having the same problem with my 2003 f-150.  I tapped off the black with yellow for the driver side to a diode and ran a wire from the black with purple on the passanger side to the diode and tied both to the negative trigger input.  My truck after about an hour or two the alarm trips with a door intrusion.  Any ideas to fix thes false alarms would be appreciated.  The alarm i'm using is a Viper 791xv.

Thanks Jeff,  I'll give that a shot.  This false door intrusion alert has been bugging me.  Thank goodnes for garages. At least I can keep my expy in the garage with the alarm off.

Will let you all know if that solves the problem.

Questions on that Diagram.  Are 86 and 85 connected together? and 87A and 30 connected together?

installed the relay as the diagram shows and now i have no more false alarms.
