Does anyone have a recommendation for a hood lock for a 2004 Chevy Avalanche?

Yeah, I know what you mean. Do you want your vehicle with some damage, or not at all.

I got my truck stolen last September so now I'm a great believer in automotive security. It seems to me that an impenetrable hood lock would be a good thing to have.

The reason why I ask is all the hood locks I've found on the internet are a cable and circular key lock that appears to replace the factory one.

Is that easy to defeat? Can't you just cut the cable and pull on it with some pliers? Or is it too difficult?

I can't find that Crimestopper Phamtomlok anywhere on the web. The closest is a CS-215, and that doesn't appear to be in production.

There was another member who was asking the same question. There is a link for a internet seller who still has some left over units on hand.
I will look it up and leave you a copy for it.

The unit in question is on the bottom. CS-215 @ $99.99 USD for the passive system.

Yeah, I called them up but they don't have any stock. It looks like Crimestopper has discontinued the product.

I guess I'll have to go with one of those locking cables. Are they any good or can they be easily defeated?
