i have a 800 watt cadence amp that powers a 10 inch Cadence sub and it's pretty good. in fact i love it. just I never heard of it and i bought my car with it. So i'm wondering if it's worth keeping or getting a better one

I am not trying to be rude or offensive, but if you love it, why get rid of it?  Just for the chance that it might not be considered good?

well i'm plannin to upgrade my system and get at least one other amp. i dont want mismatched amps unless mine is good enough to keep. If it's unreliable in any way then i'll do myself the favor and sell it so i can get a pair of matchin amps. I just cant find Cadence products ANYWHERE!. it's like i'm the only idiot with one. if i can i'll just but another cadence amp i think mine is great but where's the rest of them!

Now I understand.  Honestly, I'm not sure about the quality of Cadence.  I have heard their name tossed around a few times, but I've never seen a Cadence amp in an actual setup.  I would do some homework if i were you.  If they have a website, go and look through it.  If you find a phone number, call them up and speak to a representative about various features of the amps.  That is what I do anyway.  I always get somebody on the phone before I buy a product.  If nothing else, I learn a little bit about their customer service.  For instance, I sent an email to Kicker requesting some additional info about their amps.  I never got a response.  To me, that's crap and I will porbably think twice about buying a Kicker product from now on.  These are my personal views on car stereo equipment.  I think everybody has their own way of evaluating equipment.  Some people like myself really get in there, some people just go by word of mouth.  Sh$t, my one friend put all Diamond Audio in his car just because he didn't know anybody who had it and wanted to be different.  My belief about car audio is that with good, proper installation almost anything can sound good and last a while.  Most of the problems people experience are user-error rather than product failure.  That is why it is tough to purchase based on word-of-mouth.  One person might say that Cadence sucks because their amp blew up in two weeks.  What they won't tell you is that they had it wired at 1/4 of an ohm bridged.  My point is that if you think something is good, that is really all that matters.  If installed correctly, you can make almost any product sound good.  I'm sure Jenson's demo car sounds great.

Cadence
I run two of their amps in my setup and couldn't be happier. Unless my budget was a lot larger of course. In the time that i have been using both the Z1000 and the Q3000 i haven't yet run into any problems at all.
There is no reason that you need to stick to all the same brand of equipement unless you are looking for a show kinda setup.
What is the model number of your amp? And what are you planning to run off the 2nd amp your looking at purchasing?

Cadence are pretty good amps...  Had one until the dealer decided to let someone steal my entire system out of my ride.

yeah, cadence amps are along the same lines as lightning stuff, good midrange, but the cadences can put out some real SQ, not really made for alot of SPL. They are not really all that stable at low impedance.

Before I got up more money I used a Z-1000 to power 2 15's and it actually sounded very good. It is a good amp has a nice subsonic filter, and it never overheated. I considered it to be pretty clean considering it was overworked. The other thing is that the Z-1000 only cost $179.
