Amp choices

I have recently been given a 10" subwoofer from a bazooka tube and 2 older 12" Kicker subs, and I plan on installing the 12" subs (1 first, then the other later) in my 1997 Chevy S-10 Regular cab.

This wil be the first time that I have attempted the installation of such a system.

I will be making the enclosures myself but I am having trouble making a decision on what type of amplifier to choose.

At the present, I have the factory original speakers in the dash and doors. I believe that these do not require further amplification? The head unit is a Pioneer, not sure of the model, 35w per channel, 4 channels. I need to check on the available outputs on this model.

I think that I just need to amplify the 2 subs so I was thinking of getting a mono amp and wiring both speakers (parallel or series?) to the one amp.

It does seem that there are many 2-channel amps out there that are cheaper than the mono amps. Would it be OK to use one of these amps with either the 2 subs wired to each output or would I need to bridge the outputs together to boost power and then split them between the subs? Obviously I do not require steteo for the bass.

As you can tell, I'm confused by the choices out there. I'm used to fixing computers, not subs!
