I will be doing my first remote start install on a friends car in the next couple days.  The car is a 96 Cavalier with the paslock 1 system.  I have everything figured out except th voilet wire on the 555L ( - starter input).  All I want to know is if this only needs less than 250mA?  I think it should connect to the - starter output on the remote start system (2nd harness on compustar AM) but in the manual it says this wire is used for activating a relay used for a second + starter output.  I'm pretty sure this is the right wire, just want to make sure it really only needs to be able to pass a small amount of current so I don't fry the brain.  Thanks in advance.

that will work fine. you can also use your + accesory out, there is enough residual ground during crank to activate the bulb check wire. I use that on all my non DEI starters.

You mean the + accessory wire at the ignition harness?  The violet wire is a negative input though?  How does that work?  won't that fry the 555L?  Thanks for the info.  I'll probably just use the negative starter output but I'd like to know about using the accessory wire for future reference.  You also mentioned a bulb check wire, the remote start system has a + and - bulb check wire but I thought this was for deisels only?
