here is the deal....
my brother bought a 2002 Dodge Ram V6 the lone star edition (if it makes a difference. the truck already had a prestige remote start model # APS996 installed on it.
first problem is the led stays lit constantly, ignition on or off. i am sure it is in valet mode or i would guess. but i don't know how to get it out of valet. i tried to get it out of valet like a dei alarm. door open, ignition on, push valet button, turn ignition off, release valet switch. i have never installed a prestige or now anything about them for that matter. second, he showed me that that buy pushing a button on the side of the remote (the lcd remote) the alarm beeps then energizes the the ignition circuits, acc circuits, but it seems to me the starter is not being given 12V, it does not crank. everything else seems to work fine, the brake pedal will stop the remote start process, locks work, siren does not beep however. i did not have a multimeter to start checking stuff, and will not see him until after the holidays. but thought i need to run it by you guys and see if i am on the right track, before getting under the dash, since the install looks like a rats nest.
thanks

It could also be a problem with the transponder bypass. If the bypass is the type that uses an extra key is that key still inside the module? Try using the remote starter with a key just inserted in the ignition cylinder, but not turned. If the truck starts then you know its a problem with the transpnder bypass system. If not then you'll have to check the install for problems.

i have a lot of experience with prestige 1 check the bypass 2 reprogram tach wire because if the proper tach is not program the remote start will act like it learn but the tach determing the start or crank time .tach is green\orange on alm brain .3check to see if the yellow wire is going to the starter side of the start wire4 make sure the brake wire on alm is not getting power upon remote starting ,brake wire on alm brain is brown \black .4 to turn off valet turn ign on then press and release the push button valet.p.s there should be two one push button and one flip the flip is to turn remote start off.5. reset brain --unplug and replug in 5 minutes.siren wire on brain is white and black.

to program tach

turn ign on

press valet 3 times siren chirps

turn ign off siren chirps

immediatly press and hold valet  start the vechicle with key

if the tach is ok the park lights will flash

release valet wait for lights to go off

turn ign off

hope this helps you with your problems

thanks guys
i got a chance to fix the problem this past saturday.
it looked as though the dealership or somebody had got under the dash and cut a couple of wires. the wires were
the:
RED / white 12v constant
and the 2nd ignition
reconnected and the remote start worked properly
and i took the alarm out of valet.
works fine
