I need to know how to program remotes to an audiovox aps-685.the unit is brand new but one of the remotes is not working, I have the instructions that come with the module but the way it is worded it sounds like they are talking about the 785, because they say the siren and led will sound and flash when the module learns the remote. i tried calling auidovox tech but i think they are closed for the holiday weekend. so basically right now im SOL

to program new transmitters:

turn key to on position.

flip falet switch on / off / on / off / on / off

LED will flash 1 time, and siren will chirp 1 time, indicating system ready to accept programming for new receiver channel 1

press button(s) and hold until siren emits a long chirp - this indicates this button has been stored.

if you have additional transmitters that need to be added, repeat the previous step until all have had channel 1 added.

when ready to program channel two, flip the valet switch on and off

the led will flash two times, and siren will chirp twice indicating system ready to accept programming for new reciever channel 2

etc etc - keep repeating this procedure until you have all channels added, depending on how many channels are available for your model.  if you are only setting up for two or three buttons (however many) - flip valet on / off   until a short, then a long chirp is heard from the siren.  this will indicate that you have exited the new remote programming mode.    you should alternately be able to just turn off the ignition when you've finished adding channels and that should save and exit - you should get the same short / long chirp to confirm - hope that helps.
