The Average GPS prices i've seen have been:
$200-500 for Black and White
$500-1000 for Color
My question is... how long have these prices been like this?
And do you think by next year (Next Winter) the Color GPS will be down to the $200-500 range?
(i'm bacially looking to spend a couple hundred but not have it outdated in a few months like computer equiptment is :))
OR, i just heard there is an Attatchment and software you can buy for your laptop that acts as a GPS, anyone know what where this is and what the name is?

These are but a few websites. Just go to any search engine and type in "laptop gps". Prices have slowly dropped in the past couple of years, but nothing really signifigant. It seems as though assembling a GPS system for your laptop will get you color, a bigger screen, and cost a little less.  Good Luck

just about any gps with a data port (which is just every garmin that i can think of, and probably most of the other ones) that's either serial or usb, can be plugged into a laptop and you can choose from a variety of software titles that can do just about anything you can think of.   some software is better than others for doing specific tasks (i.e. you want to track your company vehicle -  there are several packages that track not only where it went, but how long it stopped every time it stopped, how fast it went, etc - and the software is configurable for all those and more (for instance, you want to sort by only times the vehicle stopped 10 minutes or longer - and it will break it down - color coded menues, etc.  but for a cheap solution,  get any old color laptop - an old 233 mmx  and the most generic gps you can get.... plug the two together and you've got yourself a vehicle navigation system - which also has the ability to play all the mp3's you can stand.  now if it could just go to work for you while you stay home and watch tv........
