2000 nissan frontier remote start

I am trying to install a Hornet do-it-yourself remote start on a 2000 Nissan Frontier. I have all the wires hooked up and while testing, the starter cranks for a few seconds but the engine will not start. I have double checked the acc wires and ign wire and they are testing correct. The truck will start with the key, but not the remote.

did you put in the security bypass??  you need to take a key, and put it into a transponder bypass so your truck will think your remote starter is actually you starting it with the key.

Go to your local shop , tell them what vehicle you have, they will give your the bypass you need, and your will be good to go.

I went to my local shop and they said that a 2000 frontier doesn't need a bypass. They did suggest hooking up the tach wire instead of voltage sensing. I'll try hooking it up this weekend, but in the meantime I am still open to suggestions.

i tired hooking up the tach wire and it still won't start. i rechecked all the wires and they seem to be correct.

Does anyone know if this truck needs the bypass. The guy at Best Buy said it didn't, and said he knew what the problem was but couldn't tell me because he wasn't supposed to give out that information. This is what I have tried so far:
I tried switching from voltage sensing to tach after I hooked the tach up.
I tried remote starting with the key in the switch, run, acc, and on position and the starter would NOT crank.
I started the truck with the key, and with it running was able to activate the system and remove the key and it kept running.
I also noticed a difference in the wiring information on this site as compared to DEI information. DEI calls the WHITE/ blue wire 2nd acc, this site acc. DEI says RED / yellow is acc, this site says 2nd ign.
My questions are these:
Does the 2nd starter wire need to be hooked up?
Does the 2nd acc wire need to be hooke up?

i looked at my dei sheet and it did not mention a bypass, but it did have a second starter wire which will need a positive output to it,did you connect to the second starter wire?

No I did not hook that up. Do I hook it up to the same starter output wire coming from the remote start?

You can jumper both starter wires for testing, but it's preferable to use a relay to power the second starter wire. Hook it up as follows -
85 - ground status output from remote start
86 - starter output wire from remote start
87 - 12v+ constant fused
87a - not used
30 - second starter wire on vehicle

also...not sure if your Hornet has a second starter relay output? I know the Rattler DIY remote starts from DEI do

No, the Hornet only has one output. Do you think that is the problem? I screwed up when I approached this vehicle lightly, because the truck didn't have a factory alarm, power windows, or power locks. Now it has come back to bite me in the butt. Thanks for your help.
