Im hooking up my negative triggers for my doors in my 1986 Mazda RX-7 and i was just woundering if seeing as the wire gets positive voltage throught it to turn on the light for the door. Should i hook up a diode so no positive voltage goes into the negaitve trigger.
The circuit looks like this:
battery(+)---- warning ----- door open ------ ground (-)
                             lamp           switch

Dude you are thinking to hard. Your door trigger is neg and your trunk is neg. Put diode on your negative input {line of diode facing trigger meaning light or door} thats it .You will need  diodes. Diode ffaces the same way fo rboth inputs.

just run your negative door trigger wire to the blue wire w/ white stripe that is located under either door still plate and you should be go to go.

Why is this so hard to understand. This is a basic connection involving 1 wire, so no diode is needed. The only time you need to use a diode on a door trigger is when there is more then 1 wire involved.
