Sounds even more confusing, this is totally dependent on the model # of the MB Quart speakers. Some MB Quart crossovers are biwirable, this means that they have a high and low input. On the inside of the crossover you may or should see a set of jumpers that says standard or bi-wire. First confirm this for me.

i get it now

and in side the crossover there is a jumper for the db of the tweeter and a bi wire jumper

Make sure the crossover is set to standard, hook up only to the low input.
