After hooking up my trunk pop relay, my domelight will not go off....even when the car is started and driving.  The relay for the trunk had to be hooked up to the bcm in order for it to work.  its a 96 camaro...help me turn the lights out please....THank you

ummmmm...........let me see.....ummmm..........dope, I mean dome light comes on when trunk opened...correct??  you hooked up relay for your trunk pop and the dome light will not go off......does your trunk pop with the relay installed the way it is now????

Right now I see two possible causes....

1: the realy is wired wrong....and is giving juice to the circuit all the time  (easy way to check...hit the trunk pop...if the light goes off while the button is pressed...yup relay wired wrong...)

2: might have to put a diode in line to prevent feeding current to it except when the pin switch is popped....(Leyman's definition for diode: one-way f*ck valve.  hey it's the truth..current flows only one way...it's f*cked if it tries to flow the other way....to the ladies that are on the forum, excuse my vulgarity....Domelight Won't Go Off -- posted image.) that's what I see right now....but I'm sure others see more....

One other question.....was this an aftermarket trunk pop kit????  that makes a difference to.....

btw: I'm a real smarta$$....so don't take anything offensively....

hope this helps if not....answer the above questions, and I might be able to better assist you....Domelight Won't Go Off -- posted image.

One other thing you might try if this thing had a factory switch for trunk pop....which i think most camaros do.....go straight to the switch....take everything for the trunk pop off the BCM and tap it at the switch....or tap it at the trunk...wherever.........ok, me getting beligrent....hope that helps to

This is not an aftermarket trunk pop....it does have the switch but it wouldnt work wired directly to the switch so i was told to go to the bcm  but that alone didnt work so i went to the switch and the bcm from the trunk relay.  the relay is wired correctly cuz before i went to the bcm it would work only if the bcm had been woken up by opening a door after disarming....hence the reason for going to the bcm and switch...the relay isnt juiced all the time......i hear it click and go back after i press the trunk button on remote....i was thinking a diode too but wasnt sure...i will try it and see what happens...thanks
