Prestige APS 996C Starter Inhibit Relay?

Hi everyone. I'm new here and will be installing my first alarm this weekend. I'm trying to get familiar with everything before I start and have a couple of questions.     1. Is the starter inhibit relay the same as the starter cut relay? and 2. If so, my instructions say to connect orange wire to starter inhibit relay. Then, later in the instructions it says to connect orange w/white trace to starter cut relay. Now I'm confused.

Yes, they are the same thing. What is the ORANGE / WHITE wire for ? The ORANGE wier is traditionally a starter disable activation wire when armed.

There are two different ways to control the start-inhibit relay. The instructions do not mean to do both. The orange wire is for the typical method which grounds the relay when the car is armed. I don't have your instructions in front of me, but I am assuming that the ORANGE / white gives ground when the car is "dis"-armed.
In the typical method(orange) you would put your starter wires on 87a and 30
The other way would require you to put them on 87 and 30.
The second option is more secure if the alarm is ripped out, but leaves the driver more vulnerable if there is a problem with the brain down the road.
P.S. Don't forget that the remote start starter wire must be on the engine side of the start inhibit. Good luck.

Also, on the 6 pin main power harness it says to connect red w/purple wire to constant 12v at ignition harness and red wire also but not same 12v source. According to the diagram here, my 95 Grand Cherokee only has 1 constant 12v source so would it be o.k. to connect straight to battery? Or am I just reading diagram wrong?

It should be Ok ad long as there really is only on power wire at the ignition harness. Make sure to use two seperate fuses though for each power wire.
You might want to let it run for a while under the remote start and feel how hot the fuses are getting, to make sure that the car is not drawing more power than the remote starter can handle

csorb- do you mean use two fuses if hooking to same power wire or for one going to wire in ignition and one going to battery?

I mean a fuse in each wire going to the SINGLE power wire at the ignition
