I'm just curious as to what issues arise with a box being to large, say 1.50 cu/ft when the sub calls for 1.0 or something of that nature. Does it cause hard hitting bass to sound bad? Long low notes not clear? I'm building a new box tomorrow anyway, because I'm sure using the "correct" size box has to be better than going bigger or smaller, I was just curious how the sound is affected when the sub is placed into a larger box. thanks in advance

Is it a sealed or a ported box? Ported boxes tend to be much less forgiving if you stray from the recommended sizes. Off the cuff, I think the results of going with a larger-than-recommended sealed box are that it may play a little lower, it will be quieter, and the power handling won't be quite as high, since the air inside won't compress as much to act as a "cushion" for a given amount of cone movement.
