can i hook up a whelen 2150a to both the high beams and the backup lights on my truck? I have a 2002 avalanche. Thanks in advance.

What is the current rating on the 2150a ? If you take the average fused current rating for both front and back, and compare it to the rating of the Whelen unit.
If it is below the steady state current load then yes, you can.
If it is above, you could wire a relay in series to take up the extra current load. If you have a wiring schematic for the unit, post it up.

It is rated for 15 amps. Locate the headlight fuse, and the rear tail light fuse. Add them up, and see if you are below that rating.
