Hi all,

Looking for some help if possible please.

I imported into the UK last year a Chevy Express conversion van 2002 model.

The van is fitted with factory radio/ 6 disc cd dash mount. As you are all aware the American radio frequency runs differently to UK. My question is. Can I change the frequency to UK bandwidth by reprogramming or will I have to remove the radio and send to a specialist. If the latter is the only option where can I get the info on which circuits need modifying?

Also I have a 2002 WS6 with a monsoon system Same problem applies.

Would appreciate any help you can offer as it is impossible to find anyone over here willing / able to help!

Thanks people!Frequency adaption -- posted image.

over here we can buy small converters that do that job. they cost about $20 and just go into the antenna line. not sure how it works but i know i've seen them.

got any car audio shops around you? the bigger the better.

also, some radios do have selectable, but not many so this is probably not an option.

Hi,

I have bought an expander and installed.

However. the problem I have is that US frequencies go up in point 2's ie 95.7, 95.9, 100.1 etc.

in the UK we go 95.8, 95.9, 97, etc so the radio cant reach these frequencies (which are the majority!). When the radio is switched on it is scanning and trying to tune itself. I have been told that these can be re coded for European use or that a "jumper?" inside can be re switched. But obviously we need the code numbers. Thanks for the assistance. Will keep my fingers crossed!

ah. i had a kenwood tapedeck, on which you could change that.

it involved holding down a key combination when turning it on. i'll bet it can be changed - just got to find out how.
