Yellow tops are always supposed to be used as a 2nd battery and they r great

so if you just wanted one pattery, would a red top be the best choice?

(see signature for my setup, but ca1500w, no SPL comps, I plan on upgrading alt, big 3 etc, the car will always be running when the system is playing.)

Yellow tops can be used as the primary battery. You should try to use the same age and definitely use the same types of batteries in your system.
